Wedding Wednesday: Sneak Peek!

Happy Wedding Wednesday, Friendies!

I can't begin to express how amazing the past two weeks have been... from the wedding itself to the honeymoon, I have SO much to share!  Since my official pictures aren't back yet, I'll share some pictures about a few of my favorite wedding things.  I hope to get the real goods up next week :)

Tuesday Shoesday

I am kind of annoyed with myself for even talking about Twilight...AGAIN...but I had to discuss these Carolina Herrerra for Manolo Blahnik Swan pumps featured in Breaking Dawn's big wedding.  It took 12 sketches and 3 prototypes to get the wedding shoes right, but the hard work was worth it! How gorgeous are they???

Perfect for your wedding or a holiday party!!!
available at Neiman's and Bergdorf Goodman

First Look: Kelly Wearstler Home on Moda Operandi

If you haven't heard about Moda Operandi by now, allow me to give you a little background info.  Co-founders Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir created a members only site that offers customers the chance to pre-order the latest runway collections. So say Rodarte shows their fall collection on Wednesday, Moda Operandi gives you the opportunity to pre-order those looks by say.. Friday. AND they have hired one Taylor Tomasi Hill as the new artistic director as well as Neiman Marcus', Roopal Patel as it's fashion director. Talk about a dream team!!! Anyway, MO's trunkshows have now expanded to vintage Hermes handbags, vintage jewels from Carole Tanenbaum's collection and now have entered the home goods world with Kelly Wearstler's collection. By now, you know our love for Kelly Wearstler so I am very pumped to show off some of her amazing holiday pieces featured on Moda Operandi.

Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Week!

Happy Wedding Wednesday, friends!

Well, my wedding week is in full gear, and in celebration, I thought I'd share some fun photos from throughout the wedding planning process.  I'm keeping this short-and-sweet since there's lots to do, but I wanted to sincerely thank all of you for your love and support over the past 10 months.  I never knew Wedding Wednesday would be such a hit!

A beautiful inspiration board created for me by the amazing Christine of Bijou and Boheme!
This tied it ALL together for me!
(PS - that's not my dress, but she was using as an example)

A photo from my first bridal shower - my friends are so amazing!
And that's still my favorite dress I've purchased!

This photo from the Chanel runway confirmed that my colors were black - with splashes of blush!

My save the date is one of my favorite "things" from this wedding process!

I loved this photo so much, that I was determined to have multi-colored bridesmaids dresses in these colors.
Well, I nixed the idea, but I still LOVE the color palette!

My original inspiration board... you may see some of these things pop up in my wedding!

More of my first inspiration board!

My wedding invitation - So happy with how it turned out.

Another pic from my original inspiration board

The invite for my bridesmaids luncheon

My brother with his fiancee, and then Carl and me =)
I believe that dress made an appearance on an early summer Wedding Wednesday edition.... I didn't love it as much as I thought I would, but I'm giving it a Round 2 on the honeymoon!

My inspiration for when I thought my besties would wear different colored dresses
And it's almost wedding time!!!!

Kristen Stewart in J. Mendel at the Breaking Dawn Premiere

I have never considered Kristen Stewart to be a style icon. In my opinion she always looks awkward and uncomfortable in everything she wears. I remember when she wore a gorge Yigal Azrouel dress with Chuck Taylors and I wanted to jump out my window. But last night at the Breaking Dawn Premiere, she worked it in a stunning J. Mendel dress and it almost made me forget about her sneaker/cocktail dress fiasco. Anyway, the dress was absolute perfection! The color on her skin was amazing and the thigh high slit was by far the best part!! Way to go Kristen!!

Get it get it!!

More of this Kristen.....

and not so much of least not the shoes!

Celebrity Dress Up with Amy from Living Laduree

Happy Friday everybody!!! We are so excited that our blog friend, Amy agreed to stop by and play dress up with us for this week's guest post. Amy is one of our OG blog friends and it was about this time last year when we "met" her through Living Laduree. Since meeting Amy, her blog has multiplied and she now has two others for her vintage prop rental businesses, Feather and Flea Vintage Rentals and Mod Fox Style. She is one busy lady and really outdid herself for this post which is why we appreciate her stopping by The NOW so much!! So without further ado, here is Amy!!!

Thank you Annie and Elizabeth for having me on your celebrity styling series. I love fashion but have found that being a mom of three and living in a rural community keeps me from wearing the DVF suits and Jimmy Choo's of my career days in my twenties. I have still managed to create a stylish life for myself and find that I gravitate more towards an approachable celebrity look. I don't live in New York or LA or anywhere remotely fashion forward or "uptown". I live in a mid size city in the mountains of Oregon. I wanted to highlight a "celebrity{s}" who I could most relate to. I chose the Picker Sisters. Tanya and Tracy are funny, down to earth, both mama's and have great style in everything they do. I created an outfit inspired by them and designed a room around them as well. Hope you like!

For Picker Sisters Style I choose the quintessential go to stylish but casual leather leggings. For comfort and warmth an oversized sweater. I think it's all about the accessories for these two. Great boots, scarves and jewelry are where it's at. The necklace is ironic and can actually serve a purpose while the sisters are out pickin!

For their room inspiration I thought about the pieces that they create on their show. One of a kind with an earthy and repurposed feel. I felt like they would probably never have an original painting in a space, but a found object that speaks to them and has a history. I grounded the room with a brightly colored rug and tufted grey sofa. The coffee table has an industrial feel and the chair is a proper french style paired with a modest burlap. Again, the accessories are an important element in the space. A Hudson blanket speaks to the past while the character pillows have a sense of humor.

Trend Spotting: Snake Charmer

Animal jewelry has been huge for awhile now, but Giambattista Valli really took it to the next level on the Spring 2012 runway.  The second model had a SERIOUS arm party going up past her elbows in snakes.  You likey????

While I'm not about to stack snakes up to my armpits, I think that one or two of these little serpent friends would look AMAZ.  So, if you like the look as much as I do, then shop the trend with my picks below!

1.  Luxe Rachel Zoe Slinky Snake Cuff - $33.25
2.  Betsey Johnson Snake Wrap - $85
3.  Melinda Maria Python Pave Cuff - $298
4.  Gara Danielle Diamondback Snake Cuff - $263
5.  Real Collectibles by Adrienne - $79.95

Wedding Wednesday: Lighting!

Happy WW!

Well friendies, only 10 days until my big day... why didn't any of you warn me about how much little stuff there would be to do?  Not to mention, all of those things coupled with my new job... yikes!  But who am I to complain?  I'm THRILLED about getting married in less than 2 weeks :)  I'm lucky that E has been the best friend EVER and has been holding down the fort on the blog front - not to mention helping me with all sorts of random wedding things too.

Anyway, there's one more WW topic that I've been DYING to share... lighting.  I literally think that lighting can MAKE an event space.  Even a bland ballroom can become something amaze if the lighting is right.  For my wedding, I was personally inspired by candle-light and pink colored lighting... with the color getting more pink and less candle-ish as the night goes on.

Here are some of my inspiration pics...

Kill me now. this is the prettiest thing EVER!
Purdy cute!
LOVE those orchids!
No wait - THIS is the prettiest thing ever!
Umm, I'll take 20 of those for next weekend, please

Pretty gorgeous, no?

Now wish me luck as I wrap up all of these details!

Wedding Weekend Dress Guide Part 1: LBD

So as you know, we have got a BIG wedding coming up and it's time to figure out what I'm going to wear. Luckily, I have my dress for the wedding planned out, but the rehearsal dinner outfit is a different story. My friends and I have all been trying to figure out what we are going to wear & there are a million options out there so I thought I'd make a dress guide. The first part is based around the "Little Black Dress"... with a twist. In my opinion, if I am going to spend money on a dress, I don't want it to be a plain black dress so I want some sort of embellishment, a unique silhouette or some other element to make the dress stand out. So here are my picks for rehearsal dinner and wedding dresses that are outside the little black box:

1|Topshop Diamente Prom Dress 2|Tibi Rococo Print Dress 3|Edun Neck Tie Dress
4|DVF Chania Dress 5| Anna Sui Embellished Dress 6| A.L.C. Rae Jumpsuit

I am literally obsessed with all of them. What do you think?? Stay tuned for Round 2!

Celebrity Styling Series With Born and Bread!

Ummm get ready for a SUPER big treat today.  We're posting our Celeb Style Series one day early, as our guests have something fab lined up on their blog for Friday, but that works GREAT for us because we could hardly wait to get this post live!  For today's CSS, we're so lucky to be featuring the gorgeous duo Julie and Lauren of Born and Bread.  These two New Yorkers are insanely gorge, stylish, and ALWAYS have the cutest posts up.  Not to mention, they're another blog to watch on Wedding Wednesdays, so we're a little biased in our love for them ;)

And we couldn't resist posting their adorable header... isn't it the cutest?

And of course, so are they...

So, enough from us already, here's this week's Celeb Style Series with Born and Bread!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

We were super excited to be asked over to The Now Stylebook because like us, Annie and Elizabeth are a team. The two-some is certainly dynamic and the girls have a passion for all things fun and glamorous. Be sure to check out their blog for all the fun updates!

Today, we're taking part in their Celebrity Styling Series! Very fun. Since you can't go far without seeing the Kardashian's in the headlines (especially this week!) we thought it was time they make some news in other ways. Both Kourtney and Kim have rocked classic houndstooth looks lately and have inspired us to do the same! It's definitely a print that you can't wear often and is traditionally a fall or winter trend, but it's fun to play with small or over-sized prints (or both!) to spice up some of your everyday looks. Be sure to add a red hot lip for a bit of drama ; )

This look can go from polished and refined...

... to quirky and fun!

The Man Repeller

Bits and pieces work for your wardrobe and even your home.

It's bold, it's bright and can't be missed! Are you wearing this trend this season?!

Check mate!

Wedding Wednesday: Annie's Nashville Bachelorette

Happy Wedding Wednesday!!!

Well, today I'm SO excited to share my bachy pictures.  I must say, it was a pretty intimidating task narrowing down 500+ pictures for this post, but here's a pretty good high-level summary of the weekend.  My friends worked SO hard to put together the most thoughtful celebration for me in my favorite city on earth.

I think the most hilarious part was walking into the hotel room to find "Fannie Faces" everywhere - these fans with my face plastered all over them.  The girls brought these things around all weekend and they popped up in about every picture.  I felt a little awkward, but it was really funny.  Oh, and I really have to thank Elizabeth for my awesome outfit for Friday night.  She dressed me in a sweet rhinestone "Bride" tank, jean shorts, WHITE ripped tights (rando!), and a camo hat with a veil attached.  HIL-AR-I-OUS.  Lucky for me, she had a "Brewskies... Since Forever" t-shirt on, some sweet tendrils coming down her face, and a blacked-out tooth for most of the night, so I felt like I was in good company.

Overall, the weekend was so incredibly special - I will never forget it!

Enjoy the pics!
