Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday, Everyone!!

Today is dedicated to bridal shower style, as I found the most UHHH-mazing dress when shopping with E & some girlfriends on Sunday.   Literally when I put it on, I just wanted to twirl around in the dressing room for days.  Its orange and tan color-blocked goodness totally screams Spring 2011, and it kind of has a vintage Marni vibe.

Sooo, what do I need from you, dear readers?  A.) To ignore how the fabulous Marc has accessorized our runway model below B.) To visualize the dress on yours truly, with the Portia Ponytail + Louboutin's (Merry Christmas 2010 to me!), and C.) Help me accessorize by choosing your favorite accessory combo.  Be sure to leave a comment letting me know the look you'd put together.

So, here are the dress, my shoes, and the hair style I'm going for...

And here are the accessories... let me know which combo you like (e.g., #1 from EARRINGS, # 3 from BRACELETS, # 2 from BAGS)!!

Oh, did I mention that my shower isn't until August?  Here's to planning ahead!

And don't forget to enter our Bosquez Jewelry Giveaway!

Giveaway - Bosquez Jewelry

We are beyond thrilled to announce our first giveaway here at The NOW.  The incredibly talented Marisa Bosquez, owner and designer of Bosquez Jewelry, is offering one of three incredible pieces to a lucky reader. How amazing is that???

If Marisa's name sounds familiar, it may be because we picked her as one of our "Etsy Hearts" when guest blogging on Tilly Maison last week.  We are HUGE fans of her work and love the chance to talk her up whenever possible!

A little about Marisa...

Isn't it wonderful when an artist's passion comes through in her work so strongly?  Just one of the many reasons we love Marisa's collection so much.

Here are the three gorgeous options that our winner can select from:

1. Incantation Necklace - Blue Agate Slice

2.  Petite Warrior Necklace

3. Nike Necklace

Be sure to shop the entire Bosquez collection at Marisa's Etsy shop!

To enter the giveaway, you must be a Follower of THE NOW Stylebook (Click "Follow" on the right sidebar) then:
  1. Leave a comment mentioning which necklace you would want.
For extra entries (and please leave an additional comment for each entry):
  1. Tweet the giveaway (include @THENOWstylebook).
  2. "Like" THE NOW Stylebook on Facebook (via the "Like" button on the top right of our blog.

Good luck!  All entries must be received by Friday at Midnight, CST.  A winner will be chosen at random on Saturday.

March Madness Round TWO

While I took all of your comments into consideration, I have been in love with the Lanvin platform wedges for quite some time so I had to cheat and let them through to the next round. Calm down...I know you all are so upset over this and probably want me kicked out of the league but it's my game ;) So we have quite the match up today. The Lanvin snake-alicious wedges vs. the Proenza wicker warriors. Game on!

March Madness Game 4

Alright people, this is the last game of round one so make your vote count. I would really like a new pair of sandals, but want to go for  modern pair. I have turned to my muse, Taylor, for inspiration so I chose a super minimal pair of Balenciaga's and a sweet pair of wedges from Proenza Schouler! Game on!!!

The {Not So} Basic Black Bag

Today, a friend called me with a VERY fun question... after years of spending a little here and a little there on "everyday" black bags, she's ready to invest in a bag that will carry her through the years.

Her requirements?

  1. Nothing "labely" (E.g, she's not looking for interlocking G's or LV's)
  2. A bag that can be dressed up or down
  3. Something that "not everyone has"
  4. Though we didn't exactly discuss price, I think we're we're looking for something between $1500-$2500

Here are some of my initial thoughts...

Chloé Paraty Medium Leather Bag

Jimmy Choo Riki Stamped Leather Shoulder Bag

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Black Leather Satchel

Burberry Studded Plisse-Leather Tote

My vote is for the PS1 if she's looking for something a bit on the trendy side (okay a lot on the trendy side, but I LOVE it!), and the Chloe if she's looking for something a bit dressier.   But honestly, I love them all!

Some questies - will the PS1 be out of style in a year... What do we think?   Does that Burberry look like it would be hard to wear on the shoulder, or would you have to carry it on the arm?

Ahh, decisions, decisions!

March Madness (Shoe Edition)

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of listening to my husband scream and hollar at NCAA basketball games while I just read magazines. Yes it's March Madness once again...aka snoozeville for moi. But it occurred to me to create my own little March Madness's called "Let's decide what pair of shoes Matt is going to buy Elizabeth for their Anniversary". Sounds fun right? Well there is some fierce competition and I need your help deciding on the finalists. The first match up is the Lanvin "Snaketastic" Flatform vs. the Miu Miu "Twinkle Toes" Oxford. Cue Kings of Leon "The Immortals" that is the theme song for March Madness '11 for some reason.. What is that? And game on!

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday, Pretties!

This week I've been daydreaming about honeymoon destinations, and I recently came across this piece of heaven...

The Viceroy Hotel in Anguilla, which is part of the British West Indies in the Eastern Caribbean, opened in November 2009.  And now for my favorite part... Kelly Wearstler designed the interior for the entire hotel (as she does for the entire Viceroy franchise), which means you can expect the place to be INSANELY cool. Though we usually expect to see bold colors and graphic patterns from KW, I was actually pleasantly surprised to see more muted tones for the Anguilla hotel... it really lets the island's beauty shine through.

Here are some images of the property:

Pretty amazing, no?  I think I'll be adding this one to the "dream destination" column for the honeymoon!

Emma Watson - Très chic!

Here's Emma Watson in what I consider the perfect outfit in the perfect city... Paris.  Emma was on location shooting a Lancome commercial wearing the sweetest lace shorts and rocking sky high Brian Atwood Zenith Pumps.

Here's one Hollywood starlet who just seems to have it together!  Pure perfection.

Wedding Wednesday!

Okay, no more apologizing about wedding posts... I think I'll just make it a weekly "Wedding Wednesday" series!

E and I are constantly revising my thoughts and ideas about what I want the "look and feel" of my wedding to be, but right now, here's the direction I'm going in...

So what does this translate into?  Soft pastels "toughened up" with lots of black.  Romantic floral clustered into modern bunches.  Yum!

Let me know what you think!
